you may be wondering

how do i get to whidbey island?

whidbey island is north of seattle in puget sound, and is accessible by ferry, bridge, and seaplane. please visit the travel & lodging page or the captain whidbey website for route recommendations.

do i need a car?

probably, yes. it’s about a two-hour journey from seattle to captain whidbey inn. you can find more details on the travel & lodging page.

can i arrive a day early? or stay an extra day after the wedding?

absolutely. our room rates are locked in from thursday, april 27 to sunday, april 30. we’ll be there on thursday if you’d like to get the party started early.

how do i book a room at the inn?

it’s easy! we’ve pre-assigned all guests to their rooms for the weekend. after you rsvp, we’ll reach out to you personally with the details you need. then, you’ll call captain whidbey at (360) 678-4097 to confirm your reservation and payment details.

when should i book my room by?

booking your room will confirm your attendance at our wedding, so we hope you’ll book it as soon as you’re able.

what about covid-19?

in these pandemic times, to plan a gathering seems equal parts hope and foolishness. please know that our intention is to plan an event that balances our desire to come together to mark this moment with the safety of our loved ones. we’ll be in touch as the weekend nears with more information and any requests or updates.

are kids invited?

given the size, location, and restrictions at our venue, we can’t accommodate kids for the weekend. even though we love them a lot.

what should i wear?

friday welcome dinner: something festive-casual. maybe a springtime dress, fun blazer, a cool pair of kicks, whatever makes you feel good.

saturday ceremony and reception: formal attire—a sharp suit, great cocktail dress, or power pantsuit would all work. no need for a tuxedo. feel free to bring the color!

please note that some of the celebrations will take place outside. a warm extra layer will go a long way, and a block heel is probably a wiser choice than a stiletto. :)

what else should i bring?

not too much. clothes and shoes for light hiking and/or exploring the grounds and nearby coupeville. a swimsuit if you want to sauna. and a raincoat, puffy jacket or other warmer layer for hanging outside.

are you keeping your names?

sure are. please continue to address any gift, card, or other communication to adam schmidt & danica rog.
